Typically it might require specially customised vehicles such as wheelchair vans, and the will have to be outfitted with special wheelchair hoists and ramps.
Due towards the creation of the smart phone and tablets, massive technological gains were made in the manufacture of lithium iron batteries. These batteries are a quarter of the size that old lead acid batteries or gel batteries that have been used by powering the old-style heavy electric wheelchair.
It is mainly as a result of new technological know-how over these lightweight but extremely powerful lithium iron batteries that some innovative manufacturers have come on top of extremely portable lightweight folding electric wheelchairs.
The Portashopper was one of several 1st to pioneer this new field and now have extended their range to 4 models, each dedicated to different segments of the demographic, whether children or small adults, larger adults or those that desire to be as mobile outdoors as indoors.
These lightweight folding electric wheelchairs literally fold quickly and are powered by lightweight lithium iron batteries that provide these incredibly innovative wheelchairs with a range of about 10 miles per charge.

  1. Dear Drake,

I am writing to you in desperation because I ordered and paid for a Portashopper wheelchair in September 2016 for my handicapped mother and after initially telling us that their shipment was delayed, it is now the end of the year and the person, Hilton who communicates with us from Portashopper has stopped replying to us and even calling them by phone has been ignored. Can you help?
